“Don’t work harder, work smarter.”

Do you want to take your show to the next level?

Are you tired of performing to empty houses?

Do you have an awesome idea, but don't know how to execute it?

My name is Glennis McMurray and I’ve got a mind for business and a bod for... business.

Many creative individuals are spending all their time on the creative side of the business and not enough on the business side.  In the past two sentences I’ve used the word “business” four times so you know what I mean.  (Business.)

I believe honing in on a simple, unique idea is not only easy, but helps take out a majority of the hard work in promoting your show or idea.

EXPERIENCE

Over the past few years I’ve had a hand in producing some of NY and LA's top stage productions because I truly enjoy the process of bringing an idea to life.  I work with individuals looking to brand themselves and define who they are as a performer, groups looking to take their show to the next level and anyone with an idea who just can’t figure out how to make it happen.

My current show, Dream Role, has taken the New York scene by storm in under a year.  Currently enjoying a 3-month run at Comix NY, my co-producers (Katina Corrao & Sara Jo Allocco) and I started in a small, black-box theatre in Long Island City, Queens.  We ran for 6-months at 92Y Tribeca and sold out the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA.  We’ve hosted stars from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and King of Queens, Broadway and many of NY’s top comedians.  Two pilot presentations based on Dream Role are being shot in September, 2010.  Dream Role has been featured on Backstage Magazine, Blog Stage, PlayBill.com and received a shout out by Moth founder George Dawes Green in Time Out NY.

I had a close hand in marketing and branding I Eat Pandas, (along with Eliza Skinner), a two-woman improvised musical which ran for years at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NY and LA and enjoyed critical acclaim (multiple TONY Critics Pick) and awards (two-time ECNY award winners, Best Improv Group), and eventually ran off-Broadway at the DR2 Theatre in New York as part of WET’s Inkubator Summer Series.

Dance Dance Party Party, created by myself and friend Marcy Girt has been featured in Time Out NY (multiple times), Daily Candy, Village Voice, Weekend America Radio Show, NY1, Kate Harding’s Shapely Prose, Buzz Feed, Bust Magazine and was most recently featured in The New York Times.  Another example of a great idea doing a majority of the work for you.

The Producer Package

Assistance in the production of your show includes help with writing a press release, finding a venue, designing a postcard (additional fee), defining your audience and developing your web presence.
